The "Symantec Security Report" says that attacks with ransomware increased by the factor 50 in 2014. We had two customers who faced that problem, and since those trojan horses work slow, the infection was recognized days after it happend. In consequence, the backups were effected aswell. One of them tried to pay the ransom, but didn't get the key to decrypt the files. It was "CryptoWall" in both cases, a 2048-bit-encryption.
Best regards,
Tom

"No."
"Okay, give me a second chance."
