For sending mails, see the Chilkat components (https://www.chilkatsoft.com/refdoc/activex.asp). They have a lot that you can use via Active-X. There is a MailMan component which is rather powerfull.
I'm using it for different purposes, their components are very stable, and there are a lot of examples for every component. The VBscript code samples are easy to convert to Xbase++.
