OpenSSL is an open source toolkit for secure communications and general-purpose cryptography. It is by far, the most widely used server TLS library. Updating an older Xb2.NET server to use the very latest TLS security protocols is as easy as copying the 2 OpenSSL DLL files into your Xb2.NET's application folder. This means for example; an Xb2.NET web server running on Windows XP or Server 2003 (no longer supported by Microsoft) can provide superior TLS security than IIS running on the latest Windows Server 2016 (TLS 1.3 is currently not supported by SChannel - the native Windows cryptography provider)!
Xb2.NET is a "must have" tool for developing secure cloud applications. It includes automated integration with Let's Encrypt to get, install & renew SSL/TLS domain certificates at zero cost. The library also provides support for low-level socket communications and interfaces for WebSocket, Telnet, FTP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, XML, JSON and SOAP. With Xb2.NET, it is possible to build a native stand-alone Xbase++ web server that does not rely on any external services.
Released in 2002 and continually enhanced, Xb2.NET has matured into a robust tool that you can safely depend on to build mission critical client and server-side applications. Please give it a try, a fully functional demo is available.
