Sometimes when I run xdot in 1.9 the command line status bar dissappears and the dbe and other status information is not displayed in the status line. (see attached file) If I run in 1.8 the xdot looks fine. There must be a setting somewhere that is controlling some of the settings, because the command line will be displayed normally sometimes. I haven't been able to determine exactly what sequence of events triggers the change, but I think it has something to do with switching from 1.8 to 1.9 and back. I haven't been able to find settings or stauts files that seem to be controlling this. does anyone have any ideas on what is happening?

I have been looking at my code to try to figure out why this could happen.
It doesn't seem possible.
