So it appears that you were experiencing the same memory swapping situation that I encountered. For whatever reason, when the program swaps to hard disk, there is some type of timing delay that causes a windows exception and the resulting fatal error. I had the same situation.

Glad you were able to resolve it in a similar fashion.
