To what extent is it necessary or desirable to move to Xbase++ 2.0?
It is necessary if you must have client/server capabiity for ISAM and you don't want to pay a database provider such as Advantage Server.

It is desirable any time after it works as promised.
The eXpress train is coming - and it has more cars.

I look forward to being able to "desire" 2.0..

While you're doing your testing, could you throw a quick one in there to check on 2.0's continuing ability to open/index strange filename extensions ?? i.e. .lot as the database, .loz as the index along with an .fpt. You should have all the files on your machine.. If there's an issue, i'd like to throw it at them while the cake is still baking.. (that means we still have at least a few months) :)
