does anyone use this tool with the api in Xbase++ ?

You can use LibreOffice commandline or LibreOffice as server @linux to do document conversions.
I use it a lot for rtf/doc/docx -> pdf conversions.

Notie: OpenOffice does not support it anymore.

Also you can use (must be installed too) Word / Excel via automation to do conversions. And it works quite well too.
